LOOK: Jim Lee's Cover For "Suicide Squad" #1 Revealed

via Comic Book Resources

August will be a big month for "Suicide Squad" fans. Not only is a major motion picture starring the team arriving in theaters that month, but DC Comics is also launching an all-new ongoing series featuring the Squad from writer Rob Williams and artist Jim Lee. And to get fans pumped up for the new "Squad" series' arrival, Williams has revealed Lee's cover for "Suicide Squad" #1 on Twitter.

The cover, which stars what looks like the inaugural roster of the book's titular team, features pencils by Lee, inks by Scott Williams and colors by Alex Sinclair.

The writer and artist have also spoken about what they have in store for the team, teasing that the roster might not be so set in stone. "Unlike a lot of franchise books, the premise of 'Suicide Squad' allows for characters to be killed," said Lee back in April. "That brings a gravity to every situation that's distinguishable from the rest of the line."

"One of these characters will be joining the team: Doomsday, Mr. Mxyzptlk or General Zod," teased Williams.

"Suicide Squad" #1 goes on sale August 17.
